3/3/13
With baby's arrival due anytime this month, we have put our baby preparations into finalizing mode lately. As the title suggests, tonight was a night of systems checks...finding the cameras, their charging cables and adapters and then making sure they are now charging and ready to go. And...to make sure I've thought of everything and tested everything, I'm typing this blog on my phone to see if it will work incase I can't get online with the iPad at the hospital.
I had all good intentions of packing the "go bag" this weekend but that is somewhat coming together as we speak. My clothes are packed...my 1 pair of boxers are set...I can manage for a couple of days in the clothing I wear in there...I'm just kidding...I also packed my toothbrush!!! As far as I know, I'm ready to go. Now I just need to focus my attention on my baby's mama!!! We should be able to get her bag set in the next day or so...then we'll just need to grab and go!!!
This weekend was a success for the finalizing of baby's stuff. I installed the car seat base in Elvis (our nickname for our Equinox), ensured it fits properly on our awesome stroller, and set up the pack and play in our sunroom. Of all the baby stuff I've set up, the pack and play was the biggest pain in the ass of them all!!! But now, we have a mini crib and changing table in the sunroom, so we should be good to go!!! I'm hoping to stop at the local police/fire department tomorrow to have them check the car seat to ensure I installed it properly. I must say, of all the baby stuff I've put together, the crib and carseat were the most nerve-racking...a lot of stress to make sure it's installed properly!!!
To wrap this one up...I hope my girls, Laura and Lexi, start feeling better soon. Laura has been fighting a horrible cold all week...she has pretty much been voiceless since Friday, and Lexi has some allergies or a doggy cold going on. I'm tryin to stay medicated with doses of beer...that's probably why my girls weren't able to stay healthy and I am!!! On another note, both of baby's great grandpas celebrated big birthdays over the weekend...my grandpa turned 90 on Saturday, and Laura's turned 83 today. I can only hope I'm doing as good as those guys are doing if I live to be that old!!!
Well, until the next post, where I can write more and be more detailed than just my thumbs and a 3inch screen will allow, I'll wrap this one up. Thanks again for reading my Daddy Diary and we appreciate the kind thoughts/prayers you send our way! Take care!
